"I wanted to find a website that specialised in Executive level recruitment so I did a Google search and exec-appointments came top of the list. I advertised a European Managing Director's role on a trial basis and was absolutely amazed, firstly with the amount of people who applied and secondly the calibre. For such a senior role I envisaged a short list of 5 with a second short list of 2. I actually had 10 first interviews and 3 candidates went forward for 2nd. All three were such a close match that the client had trouble deciding who to offer leaving me in the situation of having 2 backup possibilities. During the process I wanted to find out where my candidates were looking for jobs and which sites or services they rated.
